Abstract

The Path to Sustainable Impact: Sectoral Insights of Malaysian SMEs (2025) is a comprehensive ESG research and policy-oriented playbook that examines the awareness, adoption, and implementation of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices among Malaysian small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Based on a nationwide empirical study covering key sectors, including manufacturing, services, construction, and agriculture, the report provides sector-specific insights, identifies structural barriers to ESG adoption, and outlines practical pathways for SMEs to transition from awareness to action.
