An Investigation of the Effects of Rock Heterogeneity on Multiphysics Fields Behaviours Under Microwave Radiation
Abstract
Imagine breaking rock not with drills or explosives, but with invisible waves of energy. Her research explores how microwaves travel deep into rock, heating minerals unevenly until cracks burst open. By combining 3D heterogeneous rock numerical simulation with specially designed experiments, she uncovered how each mineral’s hidden character shapes this process, paving the way for safer and faster underground development.
