Sea level variability along Malaysian coastlines
Abstract
Sea level variability occurs across a wide range of temporal and spatial scales, driven by complex processes that influence coastal dynamics. Understanding these variations is crucial for mitigating coastal hazards along Malaysia’s coastlines, particularly in reducing the risks of coastal flooding associated with extreme sea level events. This research provides an in-depth exploration of sea level variability across Malaysia’s diverse coastal regions, highlighting the mechanisms and processes that drive it from local to regional scales and across different time scales.
