Abstract

Fleshed Networks is an immersive WebXR artwork that explores the shifting boundaries between human, non-human, and machine forms within virtual space. Entering the environment, the viewer encounters a visceral, purple fleshed network of hybrid cyborg bodies, entities composed of merged organic and technological elements that gaze down upon the user. Through its non-linear structure, the work destabilises conventional notions of presence by generating a sensation of concurrent existence across multiple realities. The user occupies both their physical environment and a virtual presence, producing an expanded spatial and temporal awareness. By intertwining digital anatomy, and speculative post-human aesthetics, Fleshed Networks interrogates the fluidity of identity in technologically mediated worlds and invites reflection on how AI, virtuality, and embodied experience co-evolve.
