Abstract

This Technical Report provides an analysis of student responses and facilities for the Percentage Type/Difficulty SMART::test (Specific Mathematics Assessments that Reveal Thinking www.smartvic.com). The system is described in Appendix A. Appendix B describes technical aspects of data, Appendix C shows quality assurance processes and Appendix D lists published research papers. This test assesses students’ ability to perform correct calculations for the various types of percentage problems (find the percentage, find the part and find the whole) and do this with percentages of a range of complexity (e.g., 25% vs 7%).
