Abstract

This research project aims to assess the impact of clinical nurse led pre-operative education on patients who are undergoing an anterior total hip replacement surgery at Hollywood Private Hospital, with the purpose of enhancing patient knowledge and improving patient recovery outcomes. The intent of this research project is to determine how a structured educational pre-operative consultation with a clinical nurse can reduce pre-operative anxiety, empower patients with essential information about the surgical process, and facilitate better post-operative care and rehabilitation. By evaluating the effectiveness of these educational efforts using a questionnaire, the study will aim to elevate patient satisfaction and promote a smoother recovery experience, contributing to improved healthcare practices within orthopaedic surgery.
