«Διδάξτε Κρητικά!» Η αντίδραση των μαθητών/μαθητριών του Ρεθύμνου σε μια διδακτική παρέμβαση
Abstract
The paper investigates the attitudes exhibited by the student community towards the perspective of including dialectal varieties into school curricula in a creative way. More specifically, it studies the stances of students that originate from Rethymno (Crete) towards the integration of (geographical) linguistic varieties in high school curricula through quantitative and qualitative sampling research. Students from Rethymno (Crete) have demonstrated a significantly positive attitude towards the perspective of fully utilizing dialectal varieties in Secondary Education and state that they would like to have lessons on the “cretan dialect” while they do not reject the suggestion of a systematic study of texts written in Modern Greek dialectal varieties in the context of Modern Greek Language and/or Literature classes. Finally, the recommendations that high school students have made about integrating dialectal varieties in the high school curricula are of major importance from a research point of view.
