A metal-metal quadruply bonded dimer of two pincer-ligated metal centers
Abstract
Two-electron reduction of pincer complex (PArNP)MoBr3 using Na/Hg under argon yields a quadruply bonded Mo-Mo dimer, (k3-PArNP)BrMo≣Mo(k3-PArNP)Br. This complex represents a rare example of a metal-metal bonded species in which each metal bears a k3-mer coordinated pincer ligand.
