Mechanistic Insight of Ce III -Cl Bridged Complex as Semi-heterogeneous Photocatalysis to Activate Inert CSp3-H Bond
Abstract
Developing a high-performance catalytic approach for the activation and selective oxidation of inert CSp3-H bonds to produce valuable fine and feedstock chemicals affords economic and ecological benefits in modern synthetic communities, forging the most challenging tasks owing to their inherent bond dissociation energies. [Ce III Cl6] 3-, [Ce IV Cl6] 2with its earth-abundant metal element, is a promising photocatalyst facilitating carbon-hetero as well as inert C-H bond activation. However, the pursuit of exploiting the semi-heterogeneous photocatalysis towards the activation of inert CSp3-H bonds, followed by functionalization, remains underexplored at the forefront of organic chemistry. Herein, we described a detailed mechanistic investigation
