Abstract

Under catalyst-free conditions, activated olefins are subject to hydrophosphination in Click-like efficiency unexpectedly in polar protic (alcohol) solvent. Hydrophosphination of more challenging styrene substrates can be achieved in polar protic solvents as well under irradiation. While the former reaction is apparent conjugate addition, the latter is still under consideration.
