Outcomes of Flexible Fixation Devices in Purely Ligamentous Lisfranc Injuries: A Systematic Review
Abstract
Background: Purely ligamentous Lisfranc injuries represent a challenging subset of tarsometatarsal trauma and are frequently underdiagnosed. While rigid fixation has traditionally been used, it is associated with implantrelated complications and often requires secondary surgery.Flexible fixation devices have emerged as an alternative aimed at restoring stability while preserving physiological joint motion. This systematic review evaluates the outcomes of flexible fixation devices in the management of purely ligamentous Lisfranc injuries. Methods: A systematic review was conducted in accordance with the PRISMA guidelines.Electronic databases including
