İstanbul Mesireleri ve Hünkâr Suyu Av Köşkü’nün Sosyal Hayatımızdaki Yeri
Abstract
During the Ottoman period, Hünkâr Suyu, one of the most important water sources in the Sarıyer area, led to the formation of a recreational area around it and left a deep mark on the social life of the people of Istanbul. Hünkâr Suyu Hunting Lodge is surrounded by structures such as stables, outbuildings (Buffet Building), lemon groves, and many landscape elements such as grotto fountains or pools. The pavilion structure can be dated to the mid-19th century, based on H.1257/M1841 on the qibla stone of the prayer area. Although the Hünkâr Suyu Hunting Lodge generally exhibits the characteristics of a wooden structure and does not feature any noteworthy decorative elements, its architectural features are of the highest quality and have been preserved as much as possible. The structure, planned as two separate sections connected from the inside, was built according to the traditional Turkish house plan typology with an inner hall (karnıyarık) plan scheme. The structure has deteriorated considerably over time and that serious losses or damage have occurred, especially on the facades facing the southeast and northeast.
