Abstract

This study focuses on gender perceptions, income distribution, and the role of the government in Türkiye. The aim of this study is to investigate the income distribution and gender perceptions of individuals and the role of the government in this regard. The data collection method used was a questionnaire. In this context, a questionnaire study was conducted for third- and fourth-year undergraduate students studying at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University in the fall semester of 2024-2025. 158 students participated in the questionnaire, and the data obtained from the questionnaire were subjected to frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, t-test, and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The frequency analysis revealed that the statements with the highest averages were related to women’s income, women holding managerial positions in working life, and the government not being indifferent to the oppression of women. Exploratory factor analysis revealed a five-factor structure, and these factors were named as follows: The independent samples t-test revealed that male and female participants had different opinions, but there was no difference in the opinions of the participants studying in different departments. However, according to the ANOVA findings, no difference was found in the opinions of the participants in different age groups.
