Abstract

This study investigates the heat shielding performance of polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) films consisted of silver-based AgHT8 metallized infrared (IR)-reflective coatings. The AgHT8-PDLC films were compared against conventional ITO-PDLC films by measuring temperature differences between the front and back of the film surfaces under controlled exposure to a 150 W infrared lamp at 50-10 cm distance range.
