Abstract

Background: Neonatal hypoglycemia is one of the most common metabolic disorders in newborns and can lead to significant neurological complications if not promptly identified and treated. Understanding the incidence and associated risk factors is essential for developing effective screening and prevention strategies. Objective: To determine the incidence and identify risk factors associated with neonatal hypoglycemia in term and late preterm neonates. Methods: A prospective observational study was conducted on 450 neonates (gestational age ≥34 weeks) admitted to a tertiary care hospital over a 12-month period. Blood glucose levels were measured at 1, 3, 6, 12, 24, and 48 hours of life. Hypoglycemia was defined as blood glucose
