Abstract

Background: Traditional Vedic practices, Ayurvedic principles, and ocular exercises such as the Bates method have long been associated with vision enhancement and ocular health. This study evaluates the combined effects of Chakshushopanishad mantra chanting, Ayurvedic interventions, and controlled sunlight exposure on visual acuity, refractive errors, and ocular hydration. Methods: A structured observational and experimental study was conducted on participants aged 18–65 years with varying degrees of ocular conditions. Interventions included daily mantra chanting, water charged with metal ions (copper, silver, and gold), Ayurvedic eye care practices (Nasya and Anjana), and the Bates sunning method. Outcomes were assessed through Snellen visual acuity tests, refractive error measurements, contrast sensitivity evaluation, and tear film stability analysis. Results:Participants demonstrated a 65% improvement in Snellen visual acuity, with a significant reduction in refractive errors (-1.75D to -1.25D, p
