A táj esztétikájának jelentősége a geoturizmusban

Beautiful landscapes are not only inspiring for artists, but also play an important role in destination choice for a considerable proportion of tourists; it can be demonstrated that attractive landscapes have a strong influence on people in general. Although visual appearance is the most complex and difficult aspect of a landscape to evaluate, landscape beauty can be considered a key factor in attractiveness, as it constitutes the first impression received by artists, tourists and researchers alike. Tourism, which according to recent statistics is one of the most dynamically developing industries, continues to break records in terms of both overnight stays and revenue. Geotourism, which promotes awareness of inanimate nature and favours attractive geosites as natural values, has been gaining increasing significance within tourism as part of so-called alternative tourism. This study, beyond clarifying relevant terms, seeks to explore the relationship between landscape aesthetics and geotourism.
