Synthesis, Characterization and Crystal Structures of Aroylhydrazones Derived from 4-Hydroxy-3-nitrobenzaldehyde with Various Hydrazides
Abstract
Three new aroylhydrazones were prepared by reaction of 4-hydroxy-3-nitrobenzaldehyde with 4-bromobenzohydrazide, 3-trifluoromethylbenzohydrazide and 2-aminobenzohydrazide, respectively in MeOH. The three compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, IR and 1H NMR spectra. Detailed structures of the compounds were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Antibacterial activities of the compounds were evaluated on E. coli, P. aeruginosa, B. subtilis, and S. aureus and show high potency.
