Solving Kortweg-de Vries Equation Using Finite Difference Scheme
Abstract
In this paper, we present the numerical solution of the Korteweg-de Vries equation by a numerical technique attributed to the finite difference method.The proposed numerical scheme is analyzed for its accuracy and stability.The Korteweg-de Vries equation admits a solitary wave solution that moves to the right in the spatial domain and maintains its shape in time.We use the trapezoidal rule method to approximate the nonlinear term in the Korteweg-de Vries equation.We give numerical examples.
