Abstract

Integration of renewable energy sources (RESs) with electric vehicle (EV) charging stations has become a topic of considerable interest in the past years due to the increasing necessity for green transportation. This paper investigates the design of a DC biased bidirectional dc converter based solar PV based EV Charging System Model with the aim to improve energy efficiency, energy utilization and grid interaction. The Author investigates PV-Battery with Electric Vehicle Charging Station using Bidirectional DC-DC Converter. In order to increase energy harvesting efficiency, MPPT algorithms are adopted to extract maximum power from solar PV under different weather conditions. The bidirectional dc converter enables controlled and efficient transfer of power between the solar PV system, EV battery, and the grid, for both v2g and g2v. The system is further improved with real-time monitoring, battery management systems (BMS), and load balancing techniques for higher overall robustness and efficiency. The system performance and stability are verified by MATLAB/Simulink without hardware, high charging efficiency (> 99 %), fast MPPT convergence, and bidirectional power flow are obtained. Furthermore, the robustness of the proposed control strategy is verified by the waveform analyses of the variations of battery voltage, battery current, load voltage, load current and duty ratio. Moreover, it evaluates the cost-effectiveness, grid-friendliness and environmental impact, with a particular focus on the benefits of solar PV integration in EV charging stations. This work supports the ongoing switch to green energy, as it decreases dependence on fossil fuels and increases energy resilience by distributed generation. The developed Solar PV-based bidirectional charging system would definitely offer a modular and cost-effective means for EVs at greener future transportation.
