Um caminho entre dois papas

O texto apresenta resultados de pesquisa em torno dos desafios para as igrejas cristãs e suas lideranças, sobretudo para o pontificado de Leão XIV, oriundos dos contextos dos pluralismos socioculturais atuais e das possibilidades de diálogos inter-religiosos. Metodologicamente, eles foram agrupados para análise e apresentação em dois momentos. O primeiro se refere a um breve inventário de experiências de diálogo e cooperação inter-religiosa no pontificado de Francisco, somadas à descrição do caráter aberto e ecumênico de seus pronunciamentos, em especial as encíclicas Laudato Si’ e Fratelli Tutti. No segundo momento, são indicados três passos que podem contribuir no enfrentamento dos desafios no tocante ao pluralismo. Trata-se de esforços em compreender e valorizar a diversidade religiosa, cultivar formas novas, críticas e plurais de conhecimento e estabelecer posturas justas e de efetivo diálogo para além das formalidades eclesiásticas. Abstract: The text presents research findings regarding the challenges faced by Christian churches and their leadership, especially for the pontificate of Leo XIV, arising from the contexts of current sociocultural pluralisms and the possibilities of inter-religious dialogue. Methodologically, these were grouped for analysis and presentation in two parts. The first is a brief inventory of experiences of inter-religious dialogue and cooperation during Pope Francis’s pontificate, combined with a description of the open and ecumenical nature of his statements, particularly the encyclicals Laudato Si’ and Fratelli Tutti. In the second part, three steps are outlined that can contribute to addressing the challenges related to pluralism. These involve efforts to understand and value religious diversity, cultivate new, critical, and plural forms of knowledge, and establish fair and effective dialogue postures beyond ecclesiastical formalities.
