Francisco, o papa dos sujeitos emergentes
Abstract
Abstract: This article aims to analyze Pope Francis’ legacy for the community of emerging ecclesial subjects – those who dissent from the binary, cisgender, heterosexual anthropological model, also known as “LGBTQIA+ people.” The focus is on the Pontiff’s pastoral approach to issues of sexual and gender diversity within the Roman Catholic Church. The study examines gestures, speeches, and initiatives by Pope Francis toward these subjects, revealing a movement of “radical inclusion” within the ecclesial sphere. This work also reflects on the impact of Francis’ stance on the diversity movement and the opportunities that arise from this inclusive pastoral approach, without overlooking the resistance from traditionalist segments and the tension caused by the emergence of this new papacy. Concepts such as “sign of contradiction,” “radical inclusion,” “emerging subjects,” and “ecclesial subjects” shape the rhythm of the article. Keywords: Sign of contradiction; LGBTQIA+; Radical inclusion; Ecclesial subjects; Cis-heteronormative.
