O cuidado da casa comum

A presente pesquisa tem como objetivo realçar o legado do Papa Francisco em relação ao meio ambiente e sondar sua retomada no pontificado de Leão XIV. Para isso, percorre-se primeiramente o pensamento dos pontífices, precursores imediatos daquele que viria a ser conhecido como o Papa das questões ambientais. Em seguida, apresenta-se o pensamento deste em relação à situação ambiental e ao cuidado com a Casa Comum a partir de três documentos: Laudato Si’, Querida Amazônia e Laudate Deum. Por fim, sinaliza-se que Leão XIV, já nos primeiros meses de seu pontificado, sintoniza com o pensamento socioambiental de seu antecessor. Conclui-se, pois, pela aposta na retomada do legado. Abstract: This research aims to highlight Pope Francis’ legacy regarding the environment and explore its continuation in the pontificate of Leo XIV. To this end, it first examines the thought of the pontiffs who were the immediate predecessors of the one who would become known as the Pope of environmental issues. Next, it presents his thinking on the environmental situation and the care for our common home based on three documents: Laudato Si’, Querida Amazônia, and Laudate Deum. Finally, it indicates that Leo XIV, in the first months of his pontificate, aligned himself with the socio-environmental thinking of his predecessor.
