Abstract

Seagrass beds serve as the nutrien for biota around it.Nutrien that is in the waters and sediment affected by the production and decomposition of the litter, so that seagrass litter is an important supplier of organic matter for the fertility of a waters. The purpose of this study was to analyze the production, decomposition rate and productivity of Enhalus acoroides litter with different densities. This study was conducted in October 2023 in the coastal waters of Suli, Ambon Island at two research stations based on differences in substrate.Measurement of litter production and decomposition rate using trapping and incubation methods.Carbon analysis to determine productivity using the Walkley and Black method. The highest production, decomposition rate and litter productivity were found at station two (muddy substrate) with values of 0.186 gdw.m -2 d -1 , 8,625% and 0.073 gC.m -2 d -1 , respectively. The highest litter decomposition rate for the two stations occurred on day two.The condition at station two is supported by muddy substrates, high phosphate and nitrate content and high seagrass density
