A Study on Improvement Plans for High School Music Elective Subjects Based on the 2022 Revised Music Curriculum
Abstract
This study aims to evaluate the suitability of high school music elective courses under the 2022 Revised National Curriculum and the High School Credit System, while exploring improvement strategies that reflect the core functions and roles of the elective curriculum. The research methodology involves a comprehensive literature review and a questionnaire-based survey. Academic papers and research reports were analyzed to develop a survey targeting high school music teachers. The analysis reveals that improvement plans should focus on integrated subjects that balance 'activity—based' and 'field--based' approaches, aligned with the objectives of career education. Furthermore, the findings emphasize the necessity of designing courses that leverage the professional expertise of music teachers. Consequently, it is imperative to establish a curriculum framework that integrates the goals of music electives with career education while enhancing the professional capabilities of music educators.
