Abstract

The article deals with the peculiarities of strategic management of corporations as entities of foreign economic activity under conditions of neoprotectionism. The study generalizes current trends in the transformation of international business caused by the intensification of tariff and non-tariff barriers, geopolitical shifts, and fragmentation of global markets. The authors propose conceptual approaches to adapting corporate governance of Ukrainian industrial enterprises through market diversification, production localization, and formation of strategic alliances, including joint ventures and cluster models. The research emphasizes the role of transnational corporations and integrated holdings in global value chains and analyzes mechanisms for maintaining competitiveness amid regulatory uncertainty. The paper provides examples of specific Ukrainian transnational corporations. It also examines the experience of foreign transnational companies that have encountered tariff and non-tariff restrictions when accessing foreign markets. The structure of export supplies of Ukrainian enterprises was analyzed and the risks of foreign economic activity that may affect their resource potential were identified. Methodological basis combines systemic analysis, scenario modelling, and comparative review of international practices. Practical significance lies in developing tools for strategic planning of foreign economic operations, compliance with technical standards, and institutional restructuring to ensure resilience. The paper highlights the necessity of flexible supply chains, technological autonomy, and risk-oriented governance models to mitigate disruptions caused by trade conflicts and protectionist policies. It was noted that in conditions of global instability, the most reliable markets will remain those that are formed as a result of international economic integration between allied countries, for example, the European Union market. Findings can be applied by managers and policymakers to design adaptive strategies for Ukrainian corporations, strengthen positions in international markets, and integrate into global production networks while preserving economic security and sustainability.
