Abstract

This study presents solutions to issues in CBT and ERP—namely, the gap between psychological and theoretical ideals and reality—and proposes a new supportive framework for the transition from CBT to ERP. This paper aims to present a theoretical proposal for a new framework, "Reflective Cognitive Behavioral Training (RCBT)," designed to bridge Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). It focuses on conceptual and theoretical development rather than reporting empirical data. The framework of this study is based on Horigome (2025)'s 'The Emet Measure' theory and presents a self-implemented metacognitive technique to stabilize and reintegrate state-dependent cognitive changes in anxiety disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorder. This framework, based on "Emet Measure" theory(Horigome,2025), is called Reflective Cognitive Behavioral Training (RCBT). This paper proposes the construction of a new indicator, the "Stable Thinking Axis," to represent the foundation of one's cognition. It further suggests adding a new stage of internal observation, enabling patients to compare their schemas in a stable state of thinking — the baseline cognitive state — with those in a state of cognitive confusion.
