A critical examination of the general factor of personality change
Abstract
In this paper, I critically examine the recently-proposed “general factor of personality change” by analysing 10-year longitudinal data on five-factor traits, showing that these five-factor traits do not change over time due to a general, latent, personality (functioning) entity.
