Abstract

The study attempts to analyze the role of national integration policies in enhancing national unity in Iraq after 2003. It addresses the theoretical framework of the concepts of national integration and national unity, along with the relationship between them. Adopting a descriptive-analytical methodology, the research examines existing literature and analyzes Iraqi policies in this field. The study concludes that Iraq faces significant challenges in achieving national integration due to its complex social structure, sub-national affiliations, and external interventions. However, considerable potential exists for fostering integration through policies based on justice, equality, equal opportunities, and the promotion of a shared national identity. The research also highlights that the absence of a clear strategic vision and weak political will are among the most critical obstacles to achieving national integration.
