Abstract

The specialized basic training stage is a period of targeted development of athletic mastery, during which athletes acquire stable, specialized skills, improve their level of functional readiness, master optimal exercise technique, and prepare to realize their potential during the preparation stage for high achievements. Therefore, it was chosen for research and improvement of the training program. The study presents a comparative analysis of the morphofunctional, special strength, and speed-strength indicators of juniors aged 16-18 training armwrestling according to the current program for youth sports schools and an experimental training program. The study found that the experimental program was more effective, and athletes in the experimental group demonstrated better morphofunctional indicators at the end of the experiment, significantly increasing their special strength and, especially, speed-strength indicators. The experimental training program can be recommended for training young athletes in armwrestling during the specialized basic training stage.
