Abstract

Abstract This article explores the various pure forms of carbon and provides an overview of methods for matrix formation. These methods include the use of liquid precursors, thermosetting fluids, evaporative precursors, and chemical vapor infiltration. Additionally, the article discusses how the matrix contributes to the properties of composites, the changes in properties that occur during heat treatment (graphitization), and the applications of these materials in oxidative environments.
