Design, Tooling, and Manufacturing Interaction of Composites
Abstract
Abstract This article explains the selection of composite manufacturing processes. It concentrates on design for manufacturing of polymeric composites. The article describes two aspects of manufacturing that interact with the design: the handling qualities of the raw materials, and the characteristics of the mold. It provides an overview on forming processes, post-processing and fabrication, and repair of composites.
