Molding Compounds
Abstract
Abstract This article describes sheet molding compounds, bulk molding compounds, and injection molding compounds and provides a table with common thermoplastic and thermoset molding compounds. It also discusses knit lines and meld lines, which are types of discontinuities in injection-molded parts caused by the convergence or joining of separate flow fronts of molten plastic.
