Abstract

Three uncommon species of the genus Cheiracanthium C. L. Koch, 1839 (C. adjacensoides Song, Chen & Hou, 1990, C. insigne O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1874 and C. iranicum Esyunin & Zamani, 2020) are recorded for the first time from the western India. Further, we confirm the occurrence of C. adjacensoides from India by recognizing the report of C. approximatum from Punjab (Marusik et al 2020) as C. adjacensoides. Our records of these three species from Gujarat contribute new and expanded distributional data for the Indian cheiracanthiid fauna and emphasize the biogeographical significance of western India. A short morphological description and photographic illustrations of the male habitus and copulatory organs are provided along with an updated distribution map.
