First Record of Macroscytus pfeifferi Signoret, 1883 (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Cydnidae) from India with Notes on the Distribution of Indian Species of the Genus Macroscytus Fieber, 1860
Abstract
In the present study, Macroscytus pfeifferi Signoret, 1883 is reported as a new record for India, based on specimens collected from the Upper Siang district in Arunachal Pradesh and the Darjeeling district in West Bengal. A detailed morphological description and illustrations of the specimens of M. pfeifferi from India are provided, with particular emphasis on external features and male genitalia. Additionally, this paper presents updated distributional data for all known Macroscytus species recorded from India.
