Abstract

Anah tar Ke li me ler: Ortostatik hipotansiyon;fludrokortizon; spinal kord yaralanması ABS TRACT Orthostatic hypotension (OH) is defined as a drop of systolic blood pressure of at least 20 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure of at least 10 mmHg within 3 minutes of a patient moving to a standing position or being tilted head-up to angle of 60 degrees or more on a tilt table.OH is a common complication after a spinal cord injury (SCI).Non-pharmacological approaches in OH treatment is not sufficient in some clinical situations. Therefore, many pharmacological agents are used to treat OH, which can seriously hinder the rehabilitation process for patients with SCI, such as fludrocortisone, sympathomimetic amines, midodrine, droxidopa, octreotide, caffeine, vasopressin agonists, and dopamine antagonists. This case report plans to discuss the positive outcomes of fludrocortisone treatment for a 27year-old male patient, who underwent surgery for a C6 burst fracture and was classified as C5 American Spinal Injury Association Impairment Scale C, and who had OH symptoms that did not respond to non-pharmacological treatment, and the various OH treatment options in the light of literature.
