Pregnancy 41+: features of the gestational period in terms of parity
Abstract
Purpose. To study the characteristics of the gestational period in pregnancies lasting 41+ weeks in terms of parity. Materials and methods. The social and living conditions, gynecological, obstetric, and somatic history, course of pregnancy, and data from instrumental and clinical laboratory examinations of pregnant women aged 41+ were studied. These indicators were evaluated depending on parity. All patients were divided into two groups: Group I – 22 (42.0%), first-time mothers, and Group II – 30 (58.0%), multiparous women. Results. The results showed that in multiparous women, the most significant potential risks of post-term pregnancy are age over 30 (62.0%), repeated prolongation of pregnancy (60.0%), SARS in the current pregnancy (40.0%), and anemia in pregnant women (63.3%). In primiparous patients, the leading predictors of late induction of labor were miscarriage (22.6%), obesity (45.5%), history of childhood infections (54.5%), and low placentation before delivery (45.5%). Conclusions. Timely assessment of risk factors for prolonged pregnancy and increased obstetric attention to this problem will allow for the correct determination of tactics for managing pregnancies of 41+ weeks and the selection of the method of delivery.
