Abstract

The influence of production factors on the quality of construction plywood has been determined. The quality of the adhesive bond is influenced by technological factors that characterize the wood, adhesive, and bonding conditions, while the quality of the adhesive bond is influenced by factors that characterize the testing method. The main technological factors that influence the quality of the adhesive bond are divided into five groups. Among the conditions for preparing wood for gluing that determine the strength of the adhesive joint are the moisture content of the wood, the roughness and cleanliness of the wood surface. The conditions for applying the adhesive: its consumption, method of application, and the number of surfaces to which the adhesive is applied will also affect the quality of the adhesive joint. A prerequisite for obtaining a high-quality adhesive joint is the proper preparation of the adhesive layer for gluing. When applying adhesive to veneer, care should be taken to ensure proper transfer of the adhesive from one surface to another, and this requires a sufficient amount of adhesive, which must have a relatively high viscosity so that it is not absorbed by the wood. The pressing conditions determine not only the efficiency of the gluing process, but also the physical and mechanical properties of the resulting material, since its density is formed during pressing, which is especially important when gluing veneer. By changing the temperature and pressure of pressing and the duration of their influence, it is possible to change the properties of plywood. A special place is occupied by a group of factors characterizing the temperature and humidity of the air in production premises. The method of testing the strength of plywood bonding is characterized by the following factors: the shape and dimensions of plywood samples for testing; the method of preliminary processing of plywood samples for testing. The quality of the adhesive joint for construction plywood must be determined by the shear strength of the plywood. Based on the results of the analysis of the impact of production factors on the quality of construction plywood, it has been established that in order to obtain a strong adhesive bond, it is necessary to adhere to the appropriate technological parameters of the plywood manufacturing process so that a uniform thickness and continuous adhesive layer is formed between the veneer sheets.
