Abstract

Abstract. Relevance. One of the key directions for improving the high-performance athlete training system is to enhance the effectiveness of training process management by objectifying knowledge regarding the structure of competitive activity. The analysis and generalization of such data, along with the subsequent development and implementation of management decisions based on these findings, directly contribute to increasing the efficiency of the controlled subsystem's game performance. The study aims to determine the dynamics of quantitative and qualitative indicators of technical and tactical performance among skilled female basketball players during games against different opponents, taking into account the time intervals of their execution. Materials and Methods. The competitive activity was studied by reviewing 9 games of the Ukrainian Women's Basketball Super League Championship. Research methods included: content analysis of information sources, pedagogical observation, analysis of competitive activity, and the index method. Results. The analysis of the game effectiveness results indicates that each quarter of the game has its specific characteristics related to the competitive process. However, general trends were observed that, in turn, affect the final outcome of the game. Specifically, player adaptation to competitive conditions occurs during the first 4–6 minutes (2–3 minutes of pure time). Results stabilize approximately until the 12–14 minute mark (7 minutes of pure time), after which player performance deteriorates due to physical and emotional loads, irrespective of the final score. Conclusions. The data confirm that the final result of a basketball match is determined and depends on the stable effectiveness of the team's game actions throughout all time segments of the match. The identified critical periods (namely, low efficiency coefficient indicators at the beginning and end of the quarters) clearly suggest that the structure of competitive activity in basketball presents specific and high demands on the programming of special preparation for female basketball players.
