Practice of Technical Engineering Solutions in the Construction of Facilities with an Integrated Heat Exchange and Heat Pump System
Abstract
Just a few years ago, heat pumps were something of a thermodynamic mystery for some engineers in our country, despite the fact that there were real-world examples of successful implementation. At the Iris Congress Hotel in Moscow, comfortable heating and air exchange have been provided primarily in the hotel’s rooms for over 25 years. The hotel was built in 1991 as part of the Svyatoslav Fedorov Clinic, based on a design by Bouygues Batiment. Using heat pump technology in such a building’s heating and air exchange system allows for a reduction in the energy-intensive ventilation system without the need for additional air heating. Currently, housing and utilities reform is actively underway, one of the points of which in Russia is increasing energy tariffs, including for heat and electricity, as energy economics will be a highly profitable factor in the future, including its impact on environmental protection. The use of universal heat pump systems in Russian conditions has been proven to be a reasonable and optimal solution for many issues facing domestic home construction, primarily in terms of achieving environmental and energy conservation and indoor comfort. To improve the efficiency of air source heat pump heat generation across a broad range of outdoor temperatures, a proprietary form of modern technological design was developed: a patented heat pump design, structurally combined with gas mixing and an engineering and functional air exchange system with ambient air circulation. Extensive research was conducted under experimental conditions to refine the technological process and ensure the heat pump system’s operating mode in various temperature conditions. The experimental results demonstrate the reliability of the proposed design.
