Abstract

This study focuses on water quality parameters in the city of Mao, Chad. The objective of this work is to estimate on the water quality index (WQI) using the weighted arithmetic water quality index (WAWQI) method. The assessment was based on an analysis of 25 groundwater samples. Physicochemical parameters were taken into account (EC, pH, TDS, Cl, SO4, NO3, Na, K, Ca, and Mg). Groundwater quality was calculated using a weighted arithmetic water quality index (WAWQI). Of the twenty-five boreholes, nineteen (19) are in the (excellent) range, five (5) are in the (good) range, and one (1) is in the (poor) range. This study aims to assess the suitability of water for human consumption using the weight arithmetic Water Quality Index (WA WQI) approach.
