Abstract

Air quality in laboratories is critical for preventing microbial contamination that may reduce the accuracy of test results and increase the personel risks. Laboratory air quality that does not meet established standards may lead to cross-contamination, resulting in inaccurate test outcomes. This study aimed to assess microbial air contamination in the Veterinary Public Health Microbiology Laboratory (Kesmavet) DKI Jakarta, based on Ministry of Health Regulation No. 1077 of 2011 pada . This study was an observational descriptive study with a cross-sectional design. Air samples were collected in September 2024 at five sampling points at the microbiology laboratory using a mass air sampler (100 L per point), cultured on Plate Count Agar (PCA), incubated at 30 °C for 48–72 hours, and analyzed descriptively using the Total Plate Count (TPC) method. Microbial contamination ranged from 50 to 930 CFU/m³, with 60% of sampling points exceeding the threshold limit of
