Research and Practice on Energy-Saving Technologies for Metro Train
Abstract
Urban rail transit is a high-capacity public transportation infrastructure and serves as the backbone of urban transportation for green and low-carbon travel. With the advocacy of green travel, the development of low-carbon and green practices will evolve into a significant challenge for the urban rail transit industry and is an important measure for the urban transportation sector to achieve the “dual carbon” goals. Therefore, how to reduce energy consumption has become a concern for the public. According to incomplete statistics (based on comparable data from 44 cities with statistical adjustments), in 2022, the total electricity consumption of urban rail transit in China was 22.792 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 6.39% year-on-year, with traction energy consumption accounting for 49.65% of the total electricity consumption [1]. This paper takes the optimization of ATO (Automatic Train Operation) curves as the research object and explores in detail the ATO energy-saving technical solutions based on the signaling system. By optimizing the train operation mode, fully utilizing the characteristics of the railway line, and accurately calculating the energy-saving curve, significant reductions in traction energy consumption have been achieved. The research results show that by optimizing the train operation curve, it is possible to effectively reduce the traction energy consumption of trains while meeting the required operation time, providing a reference technical solution for the energy-saving operation of urban rail transit.
