Abstract

This paper presents a comprehensive numerical analysis of a natural slope stabilization using the finite element analysis software, Abaqus. By simulating various stabilization techniques, including soil nailing, retaining walls, and geotextiles, the study evaluates their effectiveness in enhancing slope stability. Key parameters such as acceleration, velocity, displacement, and stress distributions are analyzed to evaluate slope stability under different conditions. Descriptive statistics, clustering methods like K-means, and Principal Component Analysis (PCA) are employed to validate the results and identify critical areas. The findings demonstrate significant improvements in slope stability, providing valuable insights for geotechnical engineering practices. Detailed analysis of the descriptive statistics shows substantial variability in key parameters, indicating localized effects within the slope. Clustering and PCA results highlight the effectiveness of different stabilization techniques and identify critical regions requiring special attention. This research enhances the understanding of slope behavior under stabilization measures and offers practical guidelines for similar geological settings. Additionally, the study discusses the limitations of the numerical model and suggests directions for future research to incorporate more detailed environmental data and explore additional stabilization methods. The practical implications of this study are significant for engineering practices, offering insights into safe and cost-effective slope stabilization strategies. The comprehensive numerical analysis conducted in this study provides a valuable contribution to geotechnical engineering, with findings that can guide future research and practical applications, ultimately contributing to safer and more resilient infrastructure.
