Intelligent Evaluation of Modern Logistics Efficiency in the New Western Land-Sea Corridor Based on Slack-Based Measurement and the SBM-Malmquist Index
Abstract
In the era of AI, the rapid adoption of digital and intelligent technologies is reshaping logistics organization and regional supply chain coordination, making efficiency benchmarking across key nodes increasingly critical. The New Western Land-Sea Corridor aims to improve the modernization of logistics in western China. This study evaluates the logistics efficiency of node cities within the New Western Land-Sea Corridor in China, utilizing both static and dynamic analytical methods. As China continues to modernize its logistics industry, the need for empirical research on the logistics operational capabilities in western regions has become increasingly urgent. This study employs the Slack-Based Measure (SBM) model for static efficiency evaluation and the SBM-Malmquist index for dynamic analysis, revealing significant fluctuations in logistics efficiency from 2019 to 2022. The findings indicate that while the logistics sector faced challenges in 2020 due to external shocks, there has been a consistent upward trend in efficiency. The results show that evaluating modern logistics efficiency from a mixed perspective can lead to a better understanding of the region’s logistics development status.
