Abstract

At present, the reference materials for the experiment and theoretical analysis of large size squat shear walls in multiple performance levels are scarce. In order to study the seismic behavior of squat shear walls with different of shear span ratios, three squat shear walls with large scale and different shear span ratio were constructed and the quasi-static test were carried out, and the failure mode, bearing capacity, ductility, hysteresis behavior, skeleton curve, stiffness degradation and cracks of the specimens were analyzed. The numerical simulation of the experimental process is carried out by ABAQUS, and the validity of the finite element model and the accuracy of the numerical analysis are verified by comparison with the test results. It is shown from the experimental results that the shear span ratio is an important parameter affecting the specimens, and the squat shear walls shows obvious shear slip failure. Shear span ratio is inversely proportional to horizontal bearing capacity and stiffness, and proportional to ductility. ABAQUS can simulate the stress state of squat shear wall well with theoretical analysis model and calculation parameters reasonable.
