Experimental Study on Ultimate Bearing Capacity of Prefabricated Prestressed Concrete Hollow Slab Beam
Abstract
To investigate the mechanical performance and ultimate bearing capacity of prefabricated prestressed concrete hollow slab beams, this study conducted destructive loading tests on 13-meter-span beams. The research examined deflection, stiffness, cross-sectional strain, and crack development patterns from the elastic to the ultimate stages, analyzing accompanying phenomena and patterns. Additionally, the applicability of the plane section assumption was verified by comparing the ultimate bearing capacity with code-calculated values. Based on the neutral axis position and cross-sectional ultimate strain, a bearing capacity simulation method was proposed. The study revealed the mechanical mechanisms and elastoplastic behavior of these beams, establishing relationships between load, deflection, stress, and the neutral axis, providing a theoretical basis for predicting the ultimate bearing capacity of hollow slab beam bridges.
