Abstract

Based on CiteSpace, this study conducts a visual bibliometric analysis of 391 papers on the digitalization of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) in Guangxi, published in the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) database from 2008 to 2025.Using keyword co-occurrence, cluster analysis, timeline visualization, and burst detection, the study outlines the knowledge structure and evolutionary trends of Guangxi’s ICH digitalization research. The results show that this field has grown steadily since 2015 and entered a rapid development phase after 2020, reaching a publication peak in 2024 representing a growth of over 700% compared with 2018.The research framework has evolved into a multi-dimensional system centered on “digitalization,” covering areas such as heritage preservation, interaction design, new media communication, and ethnic cultural expression. Research hotspots have shifted from basic digital technologies and regional culture to new media integration, smart exhibitions, and immersive interaction. Overall, Guangxi’s ICH digitalization demonstrates a solid foundation in technological integration and cultural innovation, though cross-institutional collaboration and practical application require further enhancement. This study provides theoretical references and practical insights for the digital protection, transmission, and dissemination of regional ICH.
