Goals and content of professional training of master teachers of foreign languages according to the new Professional Standard

The article presents the goals and content ofprofessional training for future teachers of foreign languages andworld literature at the second (master’s) level in accordance withthe requirements of the new professional standard. The analysis ofthe 2024 Professional Standard “Teacher of a General SecondaryEducation Institution”, has helped clarify the graduates’ professional competencies and normative content of higher education training, defined through learning outcomes.When updating the goals and content of professional trainingfor future teachers of foreign languages and world literature, theauthors also considered the specifics of their professional activities, the recommendations of the expert commission, and the sectoral expert council of the National Agency for Higher EducationQuality Assurance, provided during the accreditation of master’sprograms “French Language and Second Western European Language, World Literature, and Methodology of Foreign LanguageTeaching” and “Spanish Language and Second Western European Language, World Literature, and Methodology of Foreign Language Teaching.” The list of graduate competencies and learningoutcomes are presented as a structural component of the educational program.
