Syllabus «Practical phonetics of the Ukrainian language» for teaching foreigners: content and structure

The publication presents the syllabus of the academic discipline “Practical Phonetics of the Ukrainian Language”, elaborated at the Kyiv National Linguistic University for teaching foreigners the Ukrainian language. The program provides for the systematic formation of phonetic skills of foreigners for the full development of their language and communicative competences. The authors define the purpose of studying the discipline, the expected learning outcomes, propose effective forms and methods of teaching and monitoring the achieved results, provide a thematic distribution of hours on the basis of progressive systematic mastery of the phonetic features of the Ukrainian language in connection with its other levels. The program is aimed at forming a conscious understanding of the phonetic specificity of the Ukrainian language and the prerequisites for its melodious sound.
